Education Through Soccer

0%

What is a soccer clinic?

During our soccer clinics, we work with 40-50 girls and boys, for ~2-3 hours, using soccer to promote the importance of a good education. Our clinics are divided into 3 main sessions: warm-ups, individual drills, and team drills. The children are provided instruction before, during, and after each session. In addition to instruction, the schools receive soccer balls and text books, while the children are provided refreshments and school supplies.

How does a soccer clinic promote a good education?

The children at our soccer clinics learn the importance of good decision-making; the importance of developing individual talents; how to work together as a team; and how those skills can translate to success in the classroom and community.  Unfortunately, most schools in rural Africa do not have text books, and the children cannot afford school supplies. The result is that most of these children receive a poor education, leaving school illiterate and with no chance of receiving a higher education. By providing the schools with textbooks and the children with school supplies, we can help improve the education of the children we work with.

We are asking for your help to continue to provide children in rural Africa with the opportunity to be more successful in school. Our soccer clinics cost ~ $400 and provide school supplies (pens, pencils, rulers, math/English notebooks), textbooks, soccer balls, and refreshments.  The more clinics we host and the more school supplies we can provide. the more lives we can change for the better.
